Writing is a new journey for me that began in 2015, when my friends suggested that I take up quilting. My husband and I had just moved permanently to Fort Myers, Florida, and the thought of laying under a hot quilt didn’t feel appealing. After working in various manufacturing management, industrial engineering, and project management roles for many years, I felt that my right-brain was tired. Creative writing was an opportunity to do something completely new, and do it in my home, out on my lanai, or at the beach.
So, a little more about me. I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where I received a Business Administration degree. Years later, I received a Masters in Manufacturing Management degree from General Motors Institute (GMI), now called Kettering University. I retired from Delphi Corporation which is a division of General Motors, and later worked for Plymouth Tube Company and Rockwell Automation.
My husband, Dennis, and I lived on a golf course west of Milwaukee where we enjoyed golfing, biking, and spending time with family and friends. Although we didn’t have children, we had several beloved dogs during our time in Wisconsin. Finally sick of winter, we planned to move to Fort Myers Beach, but ended up in a high-rise in downtown Fort Myers that allowed dogs. To our surprise, we loved the constant activity and music that downtown offered, and met a number of wonderful neighbors.
